Magic Anvil is the result of much research into the nature of the strange anvils which fall from the sky on certain people’s heads. It is a poor copy of the phenomenon, however, and some scholars scornfully say it is merely a version of magic missile.
Magic Anvil causes a small anvil of force to fall upon the target creature’s head. If the creature has no discernable head, the anvil may strike any other part of the body. If the creature has multiple heads, one of the heads must be designated as a target. Strangely, the spell fizzles if attempted against a construct. Like magic missile, the anvil will strike the creature unerringly, dealing 1d6+1 points of force damage per 2 caster levels (max 8d6+8). Unlike magic missile, the spell only creates one anvil and can only strike one creature.
